About us



we are the Maya e Filhios Limitada., a Mozambican company, founded in 2007 by Maya, Ueli and Jonathan Litscher. We are originally from Switzerland but have been living in Mozambique since almost three years, where our husband and dad Thomas is working for the Swiss Development Coorperation in Mozambique. Since the middle of last year we have been based in the province of Niassa, in the north of the country. We are setting up a small ecotourism resort which is supposed to bring development to the local community on the one hand, and on the other hand bring people to the Niassa lake area who are interested in getting to know the authentic Africa by making unique experiences with people and nature. All this whilst enjoying a holiday at a lodge of European standard.

Maya has been staying at the lake now since 15 months, organizing and coordinating the construction of the resort. Ueli and Jonathan live in Switzerland and organize the publicity and funding for the resort and its community projects. During their holidays they usually come down to Mozambique with friends to help out.
